Re: Assemblage

The concept of Re: Assemblage evolved from the idea that heritage streetscape elements removed during the Douglas Street revitalization project would be resurrected as elements for the project’s public art component.
The sculpture made of unearthed granite curb stones, iron manhole covers and granite wall rock became a protective street bench with manhole grill, a busking platform / time capsule and water fountain.
The sculpture assemblage is titled
Re: Assemblage although the community refers to it as “Burnt Waffles.”
